Description

The Accountant is responsible for the process of recording financial transactions pertaining to a business. The accounting process includes summarizing, analyzing, and reporting these transactions to oversight agencies, regulators, and tax collection entities. The financial statements used in accounting are a concise summary of financial transactions over an accounting period, summarizing a company's operations, financial position, and cash flows.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile AR/AP for the Business Department
  • Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliations
  • Analyze Financial information and produce error-free accounting reports and analysis
  • Maintain General Ledger journal entries
  • Assist with month end close and Balance sheet reconciliation
  • Provide input into goal setting Account Receivable and Collections
  • Create ad hoc reports based on billing rates, clinician salaries and demographic trends

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, intermediate to advanced Excel and DB knowledge
  • QuickBooks Experience
  • Must be detail-oriented with ability to work independently in the high-pace work environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • 2 years + accounting experience

Preferences

  • BS Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Prior accounting experience in homecare or healthcare company
  • Knowledge of the RAP process and Medicare billing
  • Prior experience with Well Sky (Kinnser) software
  • Prior experience with electronic billing and various clearinghouse portals
  • Strong Database development and manipulation skills
