The District Attorney’s Office – One Stop Job and Resource Hub (Monthly)

The District Attorney’s Office will host a second One Stop Job and Resource Hub this month to offer trauma-informed services and support to a West Philadelphia community that was recently traumatized by the senseless, fatal shooting of a child.

The upcoming Socially Distant Pop-Up One Stop Job & Resource Hub happening on Thursday, August 20th, from 3:00-5:00 pm at 200 N. Simpson St.

As District Attorney Larry Krasner stated in the July 9th One stop Job event, “We find ourselves in a tremendous challenge.” The closure and limited openings of businesses and sectors due to COVID-19 has made it challenging for people to go job hunting, and for vulnerable citizens and crime victims to get access to necessary social services and programs.

The job and resource fair provides community members with an opportunity to engage with dozens of hiring employers and to speak with representatives from social service agencies that offer free or low-cost resources (including trauma-informed care, victim services, housing services, and vocational training programs). The offices of Councilmember Curtis Jones, Jr., Councilmember Jamie Gauthier, PA Rep. Morgan Cephas, and PA Sen. Vincent Hughes will be on hand, and free food will be provided.

We know that this is a way we can provide people an opportunity to become employed and to also serve the needs of victims and prevent crime from happening in the future.
